Sparrows

Sparrows are seen often these days. I remember them from my childhood when I used to watch them hopping about in the sun in my backyard pecking on bits of edible stuff on the ground. For a number of years, I don't remember seeing them around. Nowadays I see them in my garden. What happened to the mynahs that used to be so numerous? I don't miss them for they were noisy birds and quarrelsome ones too. These sparrows were nesting in a bamboo thicket by the pond in the Singapore Botanic Gardens and flying in and out as if playing hide-and-seek. They were also looking out for bits of bread on ground that were used to feed the fish.
